Introduction to System Modeling, Harmonics, & Dynamic Stability - Earn 3.0 CEUs

Course Topic Covered Days
EasyPower, Power Flow, System Design Fundaments Overview PowerFlow™, system modeling, load types and PowerFlow options. There is also a review of IEEE 3002.2, motor starting and flicker (IEEE 241) and renewable energy interconnection design and equivalent. 1
Harmonics, Harmonics Theory, Applications, Filters Overview of harmonics theory, including Fourier Series, as well as harmonics effect and simulation. System modeling with required data will also be covered. This will be followed by an overview of equipment de‐rating due to harmonics, transformer K-Rating, as well as harmonics flow/frequency scan/current injection and voltage source. In Easypower, designing and tuning active and passive filters will be covered as well as examples of harmonics, power flow and motor starting. Drive waveform and harmonics cancellation will also be covered. 3
Dynamic Stability and Applications Overview synchronous generator modeling, induction motor modeling and mechanical load types. Governor/exciter models will also be covered, as well as renewable plant design and equivalent. Finally there will be an EasyPower Dynamic Stability simulation, including plots. 1

DesignBase™ Training

This 3-day course covers the fundamental DesignBase programs needed for the safe design, operation and analysis of power systems. These main programs are: The Main User Interface, AC Short Circuit Program, AC Protective Device Coordination (PDC) Program and the Arc Flash Program.
