Evolution of Personnel Protection How SPGFCIs are more proactive than GFCIs
GFCIs have proven to be an excellent step forward in reducing shock injuries and fatalities in residential and commercial applications. In an effort to do the same on industrial circuits with higher voltages, Class C, D, an E Special-Purpose GFCIs were introduced to the market around 10 years ago. While both GFCIs and SPGFCIs detect and react rapidly to fault current, SPGFCIs include an additional capability to independently detect the loss of equipment grounding. This webinar, given by Mark Pollock at Littelfuse, reviews how this ground monitoring/interrupter functionality helps the device to stop the shock even before it happens.
