Harmonics in Renewable Energy Systems (part 2)
In this webinar, taught by Afshin Majd, PhD, PE, at EasyPower, we review harmonics issues in renewable energy systems. Almost all types of renewable energy systems introduce a significant amount of harmonics to the systems they are connected to. This is due to the fact that they utilize power electronics switching devices to convert and regulate the frequency. The webinar demonstrates how to use EasyPower to model these types of systems and how to measure the harmonic indices such as THD and VRSS. We reference IEEE 519 and describe how it applies to these systems.
