Modeling NEC Article 240.87 Arc Energy Reduction using EasyPower
Understanding how to model and evaluate various arc flash reduction strategies is an important skill. Proper modeling and evaluation is a component to selecting an appropriate arc flash reduction technique and selecting the setting(s) to optimize application of the method. This session, given by Robert Hansen at GE, will provide you with an understanding of how to model two of the methods cited in NEC 2014 Article 240.87 – maintenance switching and zone selective interlocking – for a low voltage system using EasyPower® analysis software. This session will also describe how to evaluate the effect on arc flash energy using these methods.
