The New NFPA 70B-2023 Standard for Electrical Maintenance, From Guide to Standard
NFPA 70B-2023, the Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance, which is one of the three key NFPA industry standards that support application of OSHA requirements, has just been changed from a guide to a “standard.” The requirements are now more formally described, though technical details may be more limited than in the past. An Electrical Maintenance Plan to drive safety is prioritized. This webinar, given by Marcelo Valdes, PE, at ABB and a member of the NFPA 70B technical committee and Dr. Harsh M. Karandikar, PhD, VP Product Management at ABB, describes the standard and its application. Maintenance frequency for various types of equipment is identified, but alternative approaches are possible.
